Favourite Media: Watercolour and mixed media, pencil and ink drawings.

Preferred Subjects: Anything that catches my imagination from the wonders around us, the more challenging the better.

Top Tips: Art is in the eye of the beholder, take sketches, photos and try to fashion your interpretation. Watch other artists and have a go. You will not regret it. A neat trick is the use of masking fluid. By carefully marking chosen subjects in masking fluid the background paper colour can be maintained after painting by gently rubbing the masking material away. Very useful for fine details in white or chosen paper colour.

Other Comments: Haydon Artists meet every Thursday evening and Tuesday morning. The accent is on art in a friendly atmosphere in a social environment. Discussing art works and encouraging each other is par for the course and helps to build confidence. The opportunity to exhibit your work is also a challenge.
