Favourite Media: Oils and pastels. Oils produce vibrant colours that can be either brushed on to a canvas or with a palette knife.

Preferred Subjects: I like traditional subjects; ranging from animals to seascapes and landscapes.

Favourite Artists: David Shepherd and Monet

Inspiration: Trips to the countryside and fishing ports give me the inspiration to paint the beautiful scenes I see on to canvas.

Top Tips: Try not to copy other peoples' paintings, create your own style.

Other Comments: I highly recommend belonging to an artists' group. Apart from enjoying other peoples' company, you'll find you have a lot in common to talk about and pick up useful tips and ideas.
